Introduction

Hyundai Elite i20 one of the keenly looked hatchback by automobile lovers is finally here for an opening price of Rs. 4.89 lakh, with top-end variant to cost you about Rs. 7.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Elite i20 comes in two engine choices - a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel, but end users have five variants, namely, Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta to choose from.

It was first conceptualized and designed at Hyundai's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany. The new model of the hatchback features the company's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design philosophy. While the car has an entirely new look, it remains unchanged mechanically.

The front façade of the car been christened with Hyundai's new signature hexagonal grille and a new thin horizontal strip that meets the head-lamps. It’s interesting to observe that even the rear profile also looks completely distinct, thanks to the 'boomerang' shaped tail-lights, and new wrap -around windows among other changes. The side profile has been blessed with dark treatment of the C-pillar, which gives the car more attractive.

Build & Quality
The cabin has been renovated. What you will notice is the new extended wheelbase, which makes the Elite i20 more spacious. It also acquires a new 3-spoke steering wheel as an alternative to the 4-spoke steering found in the old model.
Plush Interiors
Build quality is just about average and Honda Mobilio scores over it clearly.Elite i20 comes in  dual-tone dashboard, climate control, double-DIN audio player, rear AC vents, four airbags, ABS with EBD, touch-screen music system, push start-stop button and other more. A small caveat that above mentioned features are available on the mid and top variants of the car.

Two of the departments that Elite i20 clearly scores over Honda, Fiat, Suzuki, TATA, Volkswagen & Chevrolet is in the looks & price. Killer and sexy to be honest. But in terms of driving comfort, mileage and brand – Honda & Volkswagen tops the chart. If you own a Honda or Volks , Hyundai doesn’t stand a chance. But if you are not a brand conscious person, Elite i20 could be just perfect for you.
