The Xiaomi Redmi 2S has leaked on both TENAA (the Chinese telecom standards body) and AnTuTu portals, outlining its specifications. The new model will be more leaner (134 x 67.2 x 9.2mm vs. 137 x 69 x 9.9mm) and lighter (134g vs. 159g) while retaining the 4.7" 720p screen. Processor & RAM: The Single sim phone is expected to bear Snapdragon 410 chipset, paired with 1GB RAM.This implies the Cortex-A7 cores give way to 64-bit capable Cortex-A53 cores, but the clock speed drops from 1.6GHz to 1.2GHz and the newer architecture won't make up for that.
Camera: 8MP at the back and 2MP on the front camera for photo enthusiasts
Storage: 8GB internal storage, expandable by up to 32GB
OS: Redmi 2S will be running on Android 4.4 KitKat over MiUi 6
Battery: 2,200 mAh

General Observations & Verdict
With Micromax Yureka Yu & Intex phones in foray, the launch of Redmi 2S will make the competition in entry level smartphone segment much stiff in coming days.
