Review : Xolo Q700 - Water and Dust resistance beast.

Introduction

Xolo has launched water and dust resistant phone for Rs 6,999 to target consumers who are always on the go. The phone could be a game changer in India given the weather conditions prevailing and the way a normal day of mediocre person goes.

Getting to know about Xolo Q700

The phone has a solid quad core process and an average 4.5 inch screen. The phone comes with free unlimited music and video downloads for 3 months on pre-installed Hungama Music app.

The phone has dual speakers on the front to suit the noisy Indian environment.

Build & Quality

The striking feature of this phone is its dual front speakers and it being dust and water resistant.


Processor & RAM: The phone is powered by 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582M processor with 1GB RAM.

Camera: The phone has 5 Mega pixel rear and a VGA front camera. The camera has image stabilization, scene detection and tuning, high dynamic range (HDR), low light enhancement, face recognition, panorama capture and geo tagging.

Storage: Xolo Q700 has 8GB onboard memory for apps and is expandable upto 32 GB.

OS: The phone comes with Android v4.4.2 KitKat OS which should be fine with most of the users.

Battery: The phone has 2000 mAh battery and given the screen size of 4.5 inches it should last easily for a day

Display: The phone has an average 854 x 480p, 4.5inch FWVGA  IPS touchscreen with a pixel density of 218 ppi. The phone is bound to have some rough edges around the icons and the phone may not have good readability under bright light.

General Observations & Verdict

The phone is targeted to consumers who want their phone to be rough and tough and are carefree about their gadgets. Adventurous people who like travelling, hiking or sailing, this phone may just be the right companion for you.

The phone does not have any remarkable specification feature and very mediocre configuration except that it is dust and water resistant.

Xolo could have done more to this device.
