Auto Expo 2023 - India's flagship motor show kicked off today with Suzuki Motors unveiling of concept electric SUV 'eVX'. With this concept, Maruti Suzuki is planning to take over domestic players like Tata & Mahindra in the coming years.

Know 10 Key Things about Maruti Suzuki eVX:
1. This new electric offering, the first from Suzuki is a mid-size electric SUV concept. It will be fuelled by a 60kWh battery pack offering up to 550 km of driving range on a single charge.
2. Slated to be launched only by 2025, this SUV has been designed to keep global warming a priority.

Citroen C3 - Honest Pros & Cons
While it is not wise to call C3 a compact SUV however it's a crossover from hatch to a compact SUV - something in between. Keeping in mind the price-conscious Indian car buyer, C3 is high on the localisation. The made-in-India C3 is derived from the PSA's Common Modular Platform.

For now, only 2 variants - Live and Feel are up for grabs. There are two engine options - an 81 BHP, 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol mated to a 5-speed MT, and a 109 BHP turbocharged petrol mated to a 6-speed MT. However, it lags the automatic variant.
Design & Styling
Citroen's design language is unconventional and disruptive. Though dimensions are proportionate it feels like a well-designed SUV but compressed in size, like the Tata Punch.
The C3 measures 3,981 mm in length, 1,733 mm in width, and 1,604 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,540 mm which is more than the Tata Punch (2,445 mm), and the Nissan Magnite & Renault Kiger (2,500 mm). You don't get alloy wheels as standard, but as an optional add-on.

Build Quality, Fit & Finish
The C3 uses a Common Modular Platform and while it is built to a cost, it doesn't feel cheap. The doors and the bonnet are sturdy. The doors have a 3-stage opening & closing action providing a satisfactory thud. Overall, the car feels solid. The only downside is the quality of plastic used.

Wheels & Tyres
The Citroen C3 is offered with 15-inch steel wheels as standard with 'Tessera' wheel covers. You can opt for alloy wheels as an option.
The standard tyre size is 195/65 R15 for both, naturally aspirated and turbo petrol variants and have a speed limit of 80 km/h.

Ground Clearance
The C3 has a ground clearance of 180 mm, which is suitable for Indian road conditions. Note that the Tata Punch has a GC of 190 mm and the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite have a GC of 205 mm.

Safety
The Citroen C3 isn't feature-loaded and have minimalistic safety basic. It has dual airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors, speed-sensitive auto door lock, and seatbelt reminder for driver and passenger. You will surel miss the adjustable headrests in the front and rear, ISOFIX child seat anchors, side airbags, and a reverse parking camera.

Cons
• Misses mostly on the latest features like the electric ORVM adjustment, IRVM dimmer (not even manual), climate control, rear wiper & defogger, reversing camera, alloy wheels, tachometer!
• Just 2 variants at launch
• No automatic transmission on offer - a big miss when ATs are raging in India
• Quality of cabin materials is not at par with European standards
• Some ergonomic issues like the placement of rear power window switches, unusable rear headrest
• Cabin width makes the interiors suitable for 4 adults
• Long-term reliability & after-sales service quality are to be seen

2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 - Exclusive Review
After recently launched Ertiga 2022, Maruti has given another block buster in form of XL6 for the Indian market, with a few visual edits and some equipment upgrades. Major alteration is to the powertrain of the MPV, to make it more cost effective to run and dual-tone paint.

Exteriors:
More chrome accentuates the front grille giving it a mild muscular look. The 15-inch black alloy wheels have been upgraded to 16-inch dual-tone alloy giving it a more sportier look. At the rear, the roof-mounted spoiler is in a renewed avatar and the tailgate gets a new chrome garnish. LED taillights get restyled lighting elements and smoked glass. Rest, everything remains just the same.

Interiors:
The design of the cabin remains the same as the former model. The dashboard comes with neatly integrated AC vents on the passenger side & has the same horizontal slots as before. The steering wheel remains identical as well, and keyless entry and push-button start are available. Although the infotainment system still gets a 7-inch touchscreen, it now runs SmartPlay Pro system.

Connectivity:
XL6 now offers Suzuki Connect with over 40 connected features, including remote HVAC controls, driving behaviour analysis, car status report, vehicle safety and security alert, etc. MPV owners can remotely control their XL6 via a compatible smartwatch or Amazon Alexa.

360-degree camera, TPMS, four airbags, electronic stability control, and hill hold assist as standard on all variants. Seating:
The XL6 has six seats on offer, with captain chairs in the second row and two bench seats in the third row. Surprisingly much needed feature in hot Indian summers, AC vents are available for the rear passengers as well.

Engine:
The 2022 Maruti XL6 is fuelled by K15C engine, with a mild-hybrid system on offer. This offers a good 103 PS of maximum power and 136.8 Nm of peak torque. There is an option to choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, and the latter gets paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. While the new XL6 has slightly less power than its predecessor, it gives a higher fuel economy i.e 20.97 kmpl on the manual version and 20.27 kmpl on the automatic version.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga - Value for money MPV
Maruti Suzuki finally removed curtain from its 2022 Ertiga MPV in India with prices starting from ₹ 8.35 to 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom). In addition, new Ertiga will be available on its subscription platform with a monthly fee starting from ₹ 18,600 and ₹ 22,400 for the petrol and CNG model respectively. No changes or new introduction of new variants, thus we will continue to see Lxi, Vxi, Zxi and Zxi+ - with an automatic gearbox option available on all but the entry-level variant.

What’s new:
1. The new Ertiga features a new engine and automatic gearbox.
2. More modern 6-speed torque converter & a more efficient 1.5-litre DualJet petrol engine powers new upgrade.
3. DualJet unit develops 102 bhp and 137 Nm – marginally 1 bhp and 1 Nm down on the outgoing model.

4. The dual-fuel petrol CNG model develops a slightly lower 99 bhp and 136 Nm in petrol mode and 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm when running on CNG.
5. Taking cues from competition, new 6-speed automatic gearbox available on all except for the base petrol variant.
6. Now the paddle shifters is turning the Ertiga automatic more efficient. The new Ertiga delivers 20.51kpl and 20.30kpl in petrol-manual and petrol-automatic guise with the CNG model returning 26.11 km/kg.

7. On the cosmetic front, the Ertiga gets minimalistic styling changes to the exterior, just the new alloy wheels and the revised front grille. No changes in the rear.
8. The interiors of upgraded MPV include new fabric upholstery and new faux-wood trim on the dashboard.

9. Some notable equipment additions includes the infotainment, the fully-loaded models get Maruti's new 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio Pro system replete with a voice assistant and connected car technology offering over 40 connected car features and supports Amazon Alexa and smartwatch connectivity.

10. Other new features offered by the new Ertiga is cruise control, auto headlamps and the availability of four airbags (dual front and front side airbags) on higher models. The dual airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts are standard fit across the range.

2022 Kia Sonet, Seltos Launched: Should you get one?
Kia Motors India has been riding high on the success of Sonet and Seltos for a few years now while they are all set to unveil their first India bound EV in a few months. However, due to poor results in India NCAP ratings, Kia Motors have updated both Sonet & Seltos for 2022 with prices starting from ₹ 7.15 lakh and ₹ 10.19 lakh (ex-showroom, India) respectively.

Whats new in 2022 Sonet & Seltos:
The new Sonet &
Seltos has an upgraded equipment list including a greater safety kit on lower
variants along with an all-new diesel-iMT engine-gearbox combination – a first
in India - on the Seltos.
Two new paint options on
offer are Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver - and get revised badging
across all variants.
The bookings for the
new 2022 SUVs are open across all its dealerships and online.

2022 Kia Seltos: The upgrades
1. Seltos now also sports a diesel-iMT powertrain option ( a feature that was limited petrol or turbo-petrol engine.
2. The diesel-iMT powertrain is available in the mid-spec HTK+ variant and is priced at ₹ 13.99 lakh. The previously available petrol-iMT powertrain is carried forward. Also new for 2022 is a diesel automatic HTX variant priced at ₹ 16.29 lakh.

3. Kia has added more safety kit to the lower variants of the Seltos which offers 4 airbags, ESC, VSM, brake assist, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and four-wheel disk brakes as standard.
4. The HTX+ and GTX(O) trims offer the addition of curtain airbags which were previously only available on the GTX+ and X Line models.
5. Seltos has also added paddle shifters, drive modes, and traction modes on all automatic variants.
6. The Seltos comes in a new Gravity Grey and Aurora Black dual-tone paint scheme on the HTX+ and GTX+ variants.

1. While the Sonet comes in existing variants only, it too gets an additional safety kit in lower variants.
2. Four airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system are now standard fit while curtain airbags are now also available on the second from top HTX+ trim.

3. ESC, brake assist and hill start assist are now available with the HTK+ iMT variant as well.
4. On the aesthetics front, the semi-leatherette seats from the HTK variant are now offered in the HTE trim while the HTX variant now comes with the 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster.

1. Kia EV6 is one of the six EVs Kia and Hyundai plan to launch in India and will go on sale as a completely built unit (CBU) or a full-import model.
2. The cabin of the Kia EV6 will sport a clean cabin design with dual-screen layout, including a curved standalone touchscreen for the infotainment system.

3. EV6 will also feature the connected car technology, an augmented reality heads-up display and Advanced Driver Assistance Safety Features (ADAS).
4. In terms of power-train, EV6 may be equipped with a 58kWh battery pack that is offered in two configurations - rear-wheel drive (RWD) setup with 168 bhp single-motor, or in all-wheel drive (AWD) layout with dual-motor set-up that makes 235 bhp.

5. Highly likelihood that EV6 may also come with a larger 77.4 kWh battery pack that offers 225 bhp single-motor in RWD configuration, 321 bhp dual-motor in AWD configuration.
6. The range-topping, performance oriented GT variant would offer dual-motor AWD layout thrusting out around 578 bhp and 740 Nm of peak torque.

7. The rear of the EV6 is extremely good looking with flared out fenders inspired by luncha stratos from 1970s.
8. The two-spoke steering wheel looks really nice and houses the paddles to set desired levels of regeneration.

9. Kia EV6 is a perfect combination of tech, comfort, drivability however, lately their NCAP ratings in India has dented their image especially around the built quality.
